Toe-Tappin’ Tuesdays in Sweet Home

Tune it up Tuesdays, presented by the Oregon Jamboree, kicked off on June 7 in the large parking lot adjacent to the Rio Theatre (1331 Main St.) with a live performance by Kurt Van Meter. Scruggs & The Steelbenders opened. The evening featured cornhole and food and beverage. Cascade Timber Consulting was selling food to raise money for the Sweet Home Booster Club, and sold out.

Fans seated in lawn chairs take in the sounds.

“I think it went pretty awesome,” Oregon Jamboree Director Robert Shamek said of the event. “For our first one we had a great turnout, especially with all of the graduation stuff that was going on and other things in town that are happening. It was nice to see so many people show up to support us.”

The series continues each Tuesday evening through June.

Music fans enjoy country songs and cornhole at the Oregon Jamboree’s first Tune it up Tuesdays event.
