Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund invests $37,500 in Lebanon

Weyerhaeuser announced it has awarded $297,000 in philanthropic grants across Oregon through its Giving Fund, reinforcing its commitment to investing in the health and resilience of its operating communities. A total of 61 grants were awarded to nonprofits, community organizations and local fire and wildfire suppression districts in Albany, Cottage Grove, Eugene, Lebanon and other rural areas of Oregon.

Seven grants totaling $37,500 were awarded to organizations affecting Lebanon:

  • Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Santiam received two grants: $5,000 for a scholarship fund and $10,000 for new paint inside the Lebanon and Sweet Home clubhouses
  • United Way of Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties – $5,000 for Linn County Day of Action
  • Reach Out and Read Inc. – $5,000 for Reach Out and Read for Lebanon families
  • Lebanon Community School District – $2,500 for the Brick House Boutique Holiday Fundraiser
  • Lebanon Area Habitat for Humanity – $5,000 for the St. Louis Street home build
  • Native American Education Program (through Lebanon Community School District) – $5,000 for Native American Education Program

“Thriving Oregon communities are essential to the shared success of our company, employees and Oregon residents,” Katie Hooker, corporate giving manager at Weyerhaeuser, said. “These grants support organizations working to make a difference in the lives of Oregonians, from expanding environmental educational opportunities for kids and teenagers, to providing critical services to our most vulnerable community members.”

Weyerhaeuser’s Giving Fund supports U.S. and Canadian communities where the company operates. The fund prioritizes initiatives in seven key areas, which give Weyerhaeuser the flexibility to meet specific needs unique to each community.

Weyerhaeuser is now accepting applications for its 2025 Giving Fund grant cycle. Eligible organizations located within Oregon operating communities are encouraged to apply by Sept. 30, 2025.
